Here’s the trailer for the upcoming Pirate of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides. I loved the first Pirates movie and chunks of the other two. I’m hoping for more consistency than the (way the frick all-over-the-place) second and third movies. I expect more excellence from Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. How about you? You down for more Pirates excitement or has this ship sailed for you?
Johnny Depp makes these worth watching, but Penelope Cruz may keep me from seeing this one.
This may be one series that can survive relatively well past a trilogy, but I will have to reserve that for an actual screening of the movie. Some of the writing seemed a little too forced for me though, like they were trying too hard to make Captain Jack Sparrow funny by saying more traditional funny lines instead of actual Captain Jack Sparrow humor that I liked originally. Example: lines like "did everybody see that because I will not be doing that again," and "you know that feeling you get when….[forget the actual lines]…well I don't have it" (horrible quote I know, but if you watched the trailer you will know what I'm talking about).
We will see though.
