The word on the street is that AOL will unveil a revamped email service on Sunday and Facebook will launch a new email product on Monday. Are any of you intrigued? Do you care? Do you think either of these products are “Gmail killers”?
As for me, I’m completely uninterested in AOL Mail. I’m interested in how Facebook’s email will impact the market. I sincerely doubt either product will replace Gmail for me. It’s just too good and too useful. Plus, the mobile version of Gmail for Android is perfect. I don’t want to worry about mobile incompatibilities of a new email service.
So, any of you interested?
The Facebook aspect seems interesting to me, but gmail will still probably be the standard for me.
No not really.
So facebook owns your contact info lol?
and all emails you send, as well as any and all attachments.
I use AOL mail so this does interest me in the aspect of how it is going to change my services. They sent out an email when they broke free of Time Warner(?) saying they were going to change the service more than they have already had.

What if these where one in the same. AOL/Facebook mail (AOLFB mail?)
I couldn't envision it simply because Facebook is so successful right now and AOL is struggling to get back to where it used to be.
No. I use AOL as a "fun" personal address, but I don't use Facebook, so it does not interest me.

One of the ideas is that Facebook Mail (or whatever) is being positioned as the younger generation's Gmail. They'll grow up with it and use it for the rest of their life. That's a pretty smart gambit.
It's why I use AOL mail.
