The New York Post has reported that MTV is working on new episodes of Beavis and Butt-head. This is the best thing I’ve heard all month! I love these two idiots. I love Mike Judge’s writing. And I love that the show will be used to promote music videos — a strange concept for MTV, I know. Here’s the skinny:
Sources at MTV confirmed that a new batch of “Beavis and Butt-head” episodes are in the works.
The new series would keep Beavis and Butt-head in their perpetual high-school state, but it would be updated so that the pals — who obsessively watch music videos on a battered TV set — could lob their snarky comments at more current targets like Lady Gaga.
Any of you psyched for the return of Beavis and Butt-head? What are some of your favorite moments from the show? One of my favorites was when Beavis started spouting out lyrics from Harry Belafonte’s “Man Smart (Woman Smarter)” during Pizzicato 5’s “Twiggy Twiggy vs. James Bond”. It was just a smart bit of writing geared towards older viewers…or in my case someone with parents that listened to a lot of Harry Belafonte. Ha!
I've been streaming this on Netflix for the last 2 weeks lol. The world revolves around me I think. I much enjoy the dedicated episodes as opposed to the Liquid Television episodes. Hard to pick a fav moment though. So many to choose from. Maybe when they bought that fifty cent Spanish Fly from the maxi mart bathroom and tried to give it to girls at the cafeteria and then had to wrestle the guy who drank the Spanish fly lol. Coach Buzzcut and that lawyer Alderman are great.
Butthead: "Like, who would name their baby Pantera".
Beavis: "Huh -ha, yeah. 'PANTERA, get down here, dinner's ready'."
I also liked how they never had anything bad to say about Gwar.
i am totally psyched for this. First Netflix makes this and Futurama available for instant streaming. Then i get new episodes of Futurama on Comedy Central and now new episodes of Beavis & Butt-head. Thank for answering my prayers television gods.
Stupid show, I just don't understand it. I watched it on Netflix with my gf and the movie as well sober and not sober. The only thing I liked about it was seeing the future Hank Hill. I love Mike Judd but not B&B.
@Big Blak
Mike Judd?!?! is he Ashley Judd's brother?? ha!
Another favorite of mine was when they were watching "Say Something" by James. It went something like:
Beavis: Hey Butt-head, how come this dude only has one name?
Butt-head: Yeah, I think his parents were like, "Son, we love you, but you suck. You don't have to embarrass the whole family."
@rpad
haha, that one was funny.
One of my favorite episodes is when they go to their neighbors house Mr. Anderson and offer to wash his dog for free, so they can get his inheritance when he dies, but they end up making the dog vomit on itself and they end up vomiting on it too.
@tokz_21 The best was then rewrote Judas Priest's lyrics to "Washing the dog! Washing the dog!"
@rpad
oh yeah! How could i forget that great take on breaking the law!
"You boys are the ones who were wacking off in my tool shed"
the best episodes were
teen talk
garage band
prank call
beard boys
damn we're smooth
actually if any of you guys have an android phone, you should definitely download the beavis and butthead soundboard, because not only does it have sounds, it has quicklinks to some great episodes.
@thundercracker
Prank Call is amazing.
"Somebody is gonna die!"
I loved when they worked in a call center and Butt-head was reading from the script: "Hello. A-huh-hu-hu-huh. My name is your name."
HATE king of the hill. Can't wait for new Beavis and Butt-Head!
@Hrolf I enjoyed both shows, but for very different reasons. I prefer B&B because of its heavy satire.
