Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in HD: Do You Care?

There’s an interesting rumor floating around that Sony will release HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on one Blu-ray disc. The bundle would be similar to God of War: Collection. The “Team Ico” collection would be a great way to introduce new players to two great games and generate buzz for The Last Guardian. What I really want to know is are you going to go my way do you care?

I would absolutely love a Team Ico compilation. I adored Ico and wish more people bought it. The game is one of my favorite examples of “games as art” — its use of music, color, and fictitious languages was truly unique. I’d love for more people to experience the game. Perhaps it will do better as a re-release.

What say you?!? Do you care about a possible Team Ico collection?

  2. I care Ray! Those are two games I wanted to play last gen, but never got the chance. (The, what?, one out of ten person who never owned a PS2)

  3. I've never played ICO, but would like to since Shadow of the Colossus got me interested.

    You NEED to play Shadow of the Colossus. It's the most Shakespearian game I've ever played. It's interactive poetry. It's a digital Rembrandt in motion. It's one of the best novels you'll ever play. The graphics may be a bit outdated now, so an HD version should be just the thing procrastinating and new gamers should dig into.

    I have a huge lack of care for platformers (mostly because that genre hasn't changed since the PS1/N64 days) and those games still appeal to me. That in itself should speak loads about those two games.

  5. I never cared for Ico, the game felt empty and didn't hold my interest. I thought SotC was fun though. I think had there been regular mobs in the game to overcome, I would have disliked it.

    I haven't made up my mind about Last Guardian yet. It looks to be more of the same considering the direction their first two titles went. Possibly one of the titles I will borrow or pick up once it gets cheap.

    My list of titles I'm waiting for to get cheap is growing though. God of War 3 is on that list still.

  6. Dude, I would care. And now I'm mad at myself b/c that's some of the titles I forgot to mention in a Playstation survey they sent me about a week ago. It was mostly about GoW3 but then near the end it asked what titles would I like to see remade for HD like the GoW Collection. Gahh! VII was NOT on my list :P

    If you want i can lend you GOW3 as soon as my gf is finished with it. She's halfway done with it and hopefully finish it when she gets back from NOLA.

    I think Rpad had posted an article previously saying that SquareEnix wouldn't do an HD remake of FFVII because it would be too expensive.

    thanks that is an awesome offer but my birthday is in July so it among a few other titles will be on my list. I grew up very poor so now I buy myself things all the time, I just try to save things like games for gift ideas for other ppl since my others are more expensive.

    I have to put games on a cheap list because when I go buy I typically buy more than one. This past weekend I picked up Mario Galaxy 2 and Alan Wake.

    it's great. Yoshi is a great addition and the game is just done so well. Wish it was in HD is all.
