Jet lag is still kicking my ass (to be fair, I’m not putting up much of a fight), but I’m finally ready to get back to some real gaming! I’m totally jumping back into Final Fantasy XIII. Hopefully my timing with paradigm shifts won’t be too bad after two weeks away from the game. If I remember correctly, I’m in chapter 10. FFXIII has been a really enjoyable experience so far and from what I understand, the best is yet to come. I really don’t understand what some people have been complaining about. Stuff it haters!
As always, let me know what you’re playing this weekend!
Plan on finishing SCC this weekend. Then perhaps some WoW.
Another weekend of limited gaming time. The Kessler fight along with the Arreola and Angulo fights. The Blackhawks play an early game tomorrow and then the Bulls play Sunday. If anything i'll probably get in a couple of hours of God of War 3. Yeah i still haven't finished it.
@tokz_21 I'm really looking forward to this weekend's fights. Angulo vs. The Love Child should be a war. I hope Arreola loses for being so out of shape. I'm also rooting for Kessler…even though Froch's wife is hot.
I've been in some wierd Fallout 3 kick, and I'm not sure why. So between it, and FFXIII I guess. And a smidgeon of FFXI I suppose.
I got a beta code to Mod Nation Racers PSP yesterday too. Odd. Anyway, if my best friend doesn't reply to wanting the code, any of you guys who are interested and want the key let me know. I don't have a PSP anymore for now lol so it's useless to me :)
@rpad
I was rooting for Kessler even though Froch's wife is hot. I've always thought he was overrated and was given the fight against Dirrell.
Like tokz, my gaming time will be limited this weekend. I'll mostly be watching the NFL draft all weekend. I'll squeeze in some Uncharted 2 time though, I bought the new Siege pack.
I will be playing some orange box when I get a chance to…Team Fortress 2 has been a lot of fun lately, Portal is gonna kick my ass on the time trials and some of the advanced challenges. Half Life 2 so far seems pretty overrated. Granted I haven't gotten too far in to the story here, but I really don't see anything ground breaking about the story, and the game play is meh. I've played better, I've played much worse. Portal has lived up to expectations, Half Life 2 has not.
Maybe someday Iceman and I will play a little more Gears 1, but before that hopefully I will survive the avalanche of writing that I have to do for the last two weeks of school for the semester.
Ill be playing Splinter Cell, Borderlands, "The Passing" DLC in L4d2 and maybe some Far Cry 2 for sheetz and giggles.
I'll be playing more XI and Bad Co. 2. Maybe some Dante's Inferno, but I'm not sure if there is anything I want to do in the game. May send it back to Gamefly soon. XIII is on hold. Barth Doom, my new nickname for his second fight, is just mopping the floor with my dead body. I may have to power lvl some more before I try that fight again.
@Sandrock323 What brought you back to XI?
@bsukenyan
Hit me up on Live if you want a TF2 buddy. I tend to keep all my good games.
@bsu
I hated Half life 2, like with a passion. Like when game informer put Half life ahead of Goldeneye I was pretty upset about. Not losing sleep upset, more " who da F%%K writes this garbage?" upset
@Ray
Cami, but this is the third time I've gone back to it and they have fixed allot of issues(?). It is doesn't feel like a drag to lvl anymore. They added FoV to the game which lets you get buffs in non special areas. This means that a lvl 1 charicter can get refresh and regen now. Big help, since before you had to wait until ether your job gained it as an ability or if a highish lvl Red mage/White mage cast it on you. FoV also lets you accept target, like XIII, quests for bonus exp. These quests don't show up in your quest log and are repeatable per game day. Only draw back so far is the lack of players in low lvl areas. The game is old and if you play it on a HDTV it shows.
LoL why you got to add me in that eh? But they did improve XI a lot, too bad the servers are so low in people now that it doesn't matter. And the Fields of Valor help a lot. But then again I never had trouble lvling up in the first place b/c come hell or high water I was in a party whether they sucked or not lol.
@Cami
Cause if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have given it another chance :P
@Sandrock
I will have to look you up sometime then. I mostly just have to get the achievements for kills, headshots, and the medic one that will all just take some time. But it is such a good game I don't mind having a ways to go on it.
@Arguello
Yeah I can see some of the good elements of the game, but the overall game play is just not that great. I definitely don't think it is better than GoldenEye at all. Granted GoldenEye single player didn't captivate me too much once better controls on other fps's came out, but the multiplayer is one of the best. And at least there was a better story in GoldenEye than Half Life 2.
@smartguy How are you digging SCC? I think enough time has passed that I can say that was the game I was playing for March's "super secret project". I finished the bulk of the single player before the project was cancelled. I quite enjoyed it.
@bsukenyan
I like it too, but none of my friends are ever on it. Always better to play online with someone to watch your back IMO.
@Sandrock
Yeah it is. I realized how few people actually play online consistently when I started to recognize players that I had seen in the game a few days prior. I wish it was a game that still got a lot more attention because it is really good and has a lot of replay value I think.
@ RPAD
Im loving SCC!!!
@ Bsukenyan;
I'm going to the Heat game tonight (hopefully we'll win at least ONE friggin' game against those m#%th#r-%*&?@! Celtics), but I am down for tomorrow morning/mid-day. I'm sure we can finish in about an hour or so.
@ topic;
As you can clearly see from my nice, shiny new Gravatar, I'm going to start playing MW2 with the wife this weekend. This will be a true test of my FPS-teaching abilities to a non-hardcore gaming chick. We started with Resident Evil 5, and then moved up to Gears of War 2. MW2 will be her final exam to see if she can actually handle herself well in shooters. If I am successful in her conversion and she passes the test, I just may start up an FPS training school for girls.
… and yes, I may need a teachers' assistant for those of you looking for a job.

@iceman
I would apply but it looks like you're playing this on the 360 and i have MW2 for the PS3. I've been looking to play that again for the special ops trophies.
@Iceman
I can teach all your single students ;)
@ Sandrock;
Teach them all what? About how to play FPS games or human anatomy?

@Cami
I got my beta for Mod Nation Racers several months ago. I like it. It's like a much better version of Mario Kart. The Beta didn't let me build anything but the races were pretty good. I am looking forward to the full version.
Per usual I will be on Bad Company 2 MP all weekend. I am still trying to fix my K/D ratio from my friend playing on it several weekends in a row. his worst map was 42 deaths and 1 kill. He would have ended with a freaking negative score if his team had not of successfully defended! He was laughing saying "look I got a new nemesis"
@Iceman
I can multitask >.>
