One of my sources at an Apple Store told me that the shop’s supply of iPads is being guarded by armed security. Don’t even think about trying to lift one early from an Apple Store! You don’t want to incur the wrath of Darth Jobs. Or is he Emperor Jobs?!?

@tokz_21 Really? Analysts are expecting it to sell around five-million units in 2010. The pre-orders already eclipsed the original iPhone's.
@rpad
I could see your point but how many of those are wi-fi only. I know a lot of people were probably put off the iphone being an at&t exclusive and didn't want to break their contract to get one. Also, the price break is different than when the original 8GB came out it was like $599. Now you can get it for $99 with a 2 year contract. These ipads (still hate that name) will get people that wanted an iphone but don't want at&t service and apple-philes, as i call them, for all the wrong reasons just because it's an apple product and are willing to follow Emperor Jobs.
@ Big Blak;
That's an awfully expensive piece of junk.
By the way, if it's "Emperor Jobs", who's his "Darth Vader?" And more importantly, what does that make Bill Gates?

@Shockwave562 Here's an example. If I'm working in the WordPress app and want to check a fact on a web site then I have to quit WP, lose my place in the post, start the browser, check the fact, leave the browser, start the WP app, and find my post again. It's not as simple as just switching apps because I lose my place in WP and have to go through layers to get back to it again. That's not an issue on my BlackBerry.
I think Emperor Jobs sounds much better. I don’t think armed security is needed. I think they’re overestimating the popularity the ipad is going to have.
@ Topic
Emperor Jobs FTW!!! Its 2010 and that machine doesn’t run simultaneous apps. I just don’t see why people NEED the iSHAM. Call me a hater if you want but I think that thing is stupid. I made a personal vow to laugh at the first person I see with that piece o’ junk.
@ Iceman
Wow great questions (I wish a had a witty answer for them lol).
@Iceman Google’s Eric Schmidt is Vader, because he betrayed the Emperor. Gates is Dark Helmet from Spaceballs.
Lmfao Dark Helmet!
@Big Blak – I find it odd when people try to say the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch can’t run simeltaneous apps. I can listen to music while surfing the web, pull down a link, text or email it to a friend, and send them directions to a restaurant for dinner.
Just because you have to go to the main screen to switch apps doesn’t mean it doesn’t multi-task. I’d be pretty pissed if I lost an email or text message just because a call came in.
@Shockwave562 Music is the only multitasking activity currently allowed. It doesn’t bother me, but the way I sometimes work on my BlackBerry wouldn’t be possible on my iPhone.
simultaneous*
@Rpad – I guess so, I mean to me, the fact that I can leave an email to go to a website and get info and then back to the email seamlessly still seems to me like multitasking. I don’t know what more I could ask for. It only sucks I have to hit 2 buttons to switch back to email instead of one I guess….
@ Shockwave
Honestly I didn’t even think of the music because I forgot at one point that wasn’t the standard. My thing aboot the iPAD is the price point and I see that product like a huge iTouch.
@Ray
I am the same way on my BB. I'll be playing music, be tethered to my PC using the internet, I open up the cell browser and/or word, google maps, and the app world and all of that with out having to quit anything. Multitasking is a must!
So I went to Best Buy today you use an iPad. I really dislike that thing now that I have had my hands on one it really isn’t an option anymore. Its just a really big iPod Touch and nothing more. I did like the typing on it though. It was very responsive and even in landscape mode I still typed on it like a cell phone with just my thumbs. Overall I think it will be a success but for the life of me I don’t know why.
You can tether on the iphone and still run other applications.
@Smartguy
You can 1 other application is the difference.
@Slicky
I get ya, I was just pointing out that tethering doesn't take the place of an app. At least not yet.
