Gamers that are still deciding which version of Tekken 6 to pick up might want to consider Gemaga’s recent test on comparative load times. Kotaku did some handy translating and discovered that the game loads faster on Xbox 360:
According to Gemaga, it takes over thirty seconds (33 seconds, to be exact) to change a character and change a stage running the actual game disc on the PS3, compared with the 11 seconds it takes to start a fight on the Xbox 360 using the game disc.
If you’re serious about fighting games, there’s a lot to consider. If you’re playing on a pad then PS3 is the way to go. If you have sticks for both systems, 1/3 the load time makes the 360 version awfully appealing. It’s interesting that the difference is so substantial. What do you guys and gals think?
not much of a button masher myself.
I think a lot of developers start out making games for the 360 and then they use what works for the 360 and put it on a blu-ray disc. I think once people realize how much the PS3 has to offer and they start a game with the PS3 in mind, We might see the exact opposite. Or maybe its just my inner fan-boy looking for an excuse.
@Arguello You are correct that a lot of development started with 360 first. That's changing though. It will be interesting to see if the differences are more pronounced at the end of 2010 and 2011.
Devs are actually saying that it is easier to make it on the PS3 and port it to the PS3, than to port to the 360.
Stupid hands….
"port to the 360, than to port to the PS3."
@Sandrock323 Some say that, some don't. The results aren't that impressive.
That 33 second thing is not true. It don’t take me that long for sure, but I opted for the optional install.
@RRODisHere The test was using disc only, so the numbers might be true.
Hadnt played Tekken since Tekken 2 myself.Quite a few on my friend list playing it though. So its more popular than I would have given it credit for being.
