      1. I think I agree with Iceman…not to make assumptions about what Iceman is meaning, I feel like there has to be a catch. No one makes a perfect product, there is always a downside whether that be an extra cost somewhere along the road, bad interface, poor design, etc. Lots of things could go wrong with a seemingly great product, and while I am excited to see and learn more about Google TV, there is probably some sort of "but…" statement coming after all the benefits and features.

I believe that is what Iceman is referring to, and if not well then that is exactly what I am referring to. And although my tv is at least 5 years old now and only a 20" screen, I am not excited about 3D tv's in the least.

      2. That actually makes things more confusing. I think there are a lot of misconceptions about what Google TV is. That's mostly Google's fault. It hasn't done a good job explaining what the service offers.

      3. aside from using your tv for youtube I don't see what it offers besides replacing your programming guide to an extent.

      4. Apps. Hmm. I'd need to see one specifically for Googke TV then. I don't see the end user benefit.

I feel the same about apps for Apple TV.

Unless these apps are subs or a la carte tv…..

      5. Like I mentioned in my keynote coverage linked above, HTML5 games through Google TV could be huge.

You don't see how apps on Google TV are beneficial to end users? They can be just as useful as they are on phones.

      6. Perhaps. What I think is that without Google having a standard on hardware that ALL have to follow it will be so so. Playing a game on your Sony vs Samsung could be drastically different because one has a larger keyboard controller, etc.

I honestly find the integrated Google search useless. I don't watch TV anyway. Paying for a set with this tech is a waste of my money. Besides I'm not attention deficit where I have to YouTube during a commercial break.

I see Google having to refresh this a few times before it is the norm or even used widespread. As it stands an AppleTV is cheaper and easier to use. The simple remote and it being Apple are my basis for ease of use.

  1. Finally an update for my WebTV!

Kidding. I can live with out GoogleTV even though I love me some Android.
