What Will Happen When LeBron James Returns to Cleveland?

I’m so psyched for the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers NBA game tonight — the first time LeBron James will play against his old team since “The Decision“. It’s kind of like anticipating a car wreck or a natural disaster — you know something bad is going to happen.

The Cavs’ front has hired extra security for tonight’s game and claimed that it will confiscate anti-LeBron t-shirts (lame). The precautions will just add to what’s sure to be a charged arena. What do you think will happen? Will the fans give LeBron hell for all four quarters or will they calm down after the first five minutes of the game? Will LeBron do his famous powder toss? Will there be violence? Will people get arrested? Will an idiot make it to the floor in an attempt to tackle James? Will Sniper Wolf tag LeBron from the rafters?!? There are so many possibilities! What do you think will happen?

  1. I can't wait, but un/fortunately I will be at a taping for a Kevin Smith DVD (aka Silent Bob) from about 7 to 11 tonight, thank the 9 for Android!

      1. I dont know the title I think it might be "Another Evening with Kevin Smith" I'll look into that and let you know.

      2. Did you watch A Threevening with Kevin Smith? I have it just haven't got around to watching it and didn;t know it it was any good.

    1. @BB

you know during the taping you should yell out RPAD.tv Rules! free plug. I'm sure it will be worth getting kicked out of the taping.

  2. While I understand the extra security, taking away anti-Lebron t-shirts is a little ridiculous. As long as it's appropriate enough to be on TV I don't see what the problem is. I remember when the Saints played the Jets last year, Mark Sanchez dove at Vilma's legs after an interception and they ended up making dirty Sanchez shirts.

    1. They are only doing it for t-shirts that are overly inappropriate or vulgar. There will still be plenty of anti-james shirts.

      1. First amendment rights are definitely important, I will never dispute that. But they do have a limit. Like how they do not cover yelling "fire" in a crowded room with only one exit when there actually is no fire. Also hate speech is not protected under the first amendment, which is probably the level of vulgarity that they are looking for with the t-shirts, and I'm sure exist in Cleveland right now.

      2. I believe this is what they're trying to avoid:

(although I wholeheartedly agree with this particular girl's shirt)

    2. I'm looking forward to seeing the fine Cleveland ladies that showed up in anti-LeBron shirts.

(Oh wait… there are no fine ladies in Cleveland.)

  3. I saw Charles Barkley talking about this last night on Lopez Tonight. He seemed genuinely concerned that there are going to be a number of idiots out there and it just takes 1 to start something horrible. I hope nothing serious does happen but people should be allowed to wear whatever they want.

    1. Despite the rumors swirling around, Spoelstra is not getting fired because he's too good at kissing Pat Riley's ass. Honestly, though, I'd give the guy another year to see what he can do. I personally liked Van Gundy's style.

  4. I think there will be a lot of idiots doing some pretty stupid things and getting arrested. I'm still not sure if he will do the powder toss, but the crowd will be vicious and vulgar all night whenever he touches the ball.

I'm hoping to see Wade do some of the heavy lifting early on with James getting plenty of assists before he warms up and calms down in order to start scoring plenty himself. I'm hoping that's how it goes at least. The Heat can definitely win this match up, but the crowd will have a huge effect on the game tonight, and I don't think anybody will really be able to anticipate how that will effect either side completely.

  5. I hope the Cavs crush the Heat by 40. It may be the last "good news" sports story to come out of Cleveland for the next decade.

    1. You're funny! Coincidentally, the Browns are playing the Dolphins this week, so I can only hope that there is no "good news" coming out of Cleveland at our expense.

      Force Unleashed, Cleveland!

      1. Based on the current score, it looks like Miami will win by about 40. Not overly surprising based on the talent levels of the two teams. But maybe we'll all get lucky and Lebron will trip over his ego and get hit by a bus on his way out of the stadium.

(FYI, I don't begrudge him wanting to get out of Cleveland. I would too. But an hour long TV special where you effectively give your hometown the middle finger doesn't win you any popularity contests)
