What Are You Playing This Weekend?

This weekend I’m going to decide between my DS Lite and PSP. You see, I’m going to Asia on Sunday for another super secret project. I only want to bring one system. I can fill a lot of time with excellent DS RPGs like Glory of Heracles, Pokemon SoulSilver, and Dragon Quest IX. Then again the PSP’s power adapter will definitely work in the various countries I’m hitting (DS is 11o only) and I can download lots of great games for my trip (carrying physical media is stupid). Hmmmm, Final Fantasy IX on a trans-Pacific flight sounds like a great idea….

Anyway, what’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. I don't know yet. I beat Starcraft 2. I am gonna raid in ICC Sunday.

    Might buy a game at Bestbuy tonight. Any ideas?

  2. I'm on Chapter 6 of FF13, so i'm halfway through according to the story but i know there are more tough things to come. so i'm hoping to get halfway to chapter 7 after this weekend.

    @rpad

    FF9 sounds like a good way to kill time on a plane trip to Asia.

    @smartguy

    did you ever pick up God of War 3?

  3. I am going to try and play Kane & Lynch Dogs Days again…..as soon as my eyes stop bleeding from the first 30 minutes I played.

  4. @Smartguy

    no problem.

    @slicky

    wow is it that bad?? i never played the first one but other people that have told me to try it out. it just doesnt appeal to me.

  5. I'm on the same boat as Smartguy. I have no idea what I'll be playing this weekend. I just finished getting my last Vidmaster achievement in Halo 3 and I'm pretty much done with it for now. I'll have to choose between Mega Man 9, Bayonetta, and the two Resident Evil 5 episodes (for the wife, who wants to play something with me she's "relatively" good at. But then again, she has to study for the Auditing part of her CPA exam, so that probably won't happen this weekend). Also, I have Fallout 3 just waiting on the shelf, but I don't want to start an epic time-sucking RPG with Halo Reach around the corner.

    @Smartguy;

    May I suggest Rogue Warrior if you're feeling particularly masochistic? If not, everyone seems to be ranting about Grand Theft Horse (a.k.a. Red Dead Redemption)

    P.S.- Yes, I did say and use the phrase "Halo Reach around" in the proper context. Both of them.

  6. @BigBlak;

    If you love old-school 2D Metroid games, you'll love Shadow Complex. It's a damn-near perfect XBLA game.

    The first one was okay. I liked the 2player aspect but it had some major flaws.

    The second one is supposed to be like a movie and the camera shakes like Michael J Fox is holding it and its in Bangkok so there are bright lights everywhere. Mix the 2 and its easy to get eye strain and motion sickness (which I never get until now)

  8. @Big Blak

    Leveling up in Shadow Complex was the hardest part for me. Just find a good guide to help with the minimalist achievement and whatever the one is called for getting 100% of the items

    @Topic

    I got Halo Wars and Pure to play so I am spending a little bit of time with those. I will probably play some Halo 3 multiplayer at some point too, and if @Iceman's offer still stands I might play through the campaign again to get the heroic/legendary achievements. If anyone else wants to play legendary Halo 3 this weekend as well let me know. I'm hoping to finish a good amount of Halo achievements before Reach comes out in a couple of weeks.

  9. @slicky

    wow! Michael J Fox huh, he has been shaking a lot more recently. I felt bad for him when he came back to Spin City. The show was not the same when he had to leave.

  10. @Bsukenyan;

    The offer still stands. The meta game and heroic/legendary achievements are easy (they just take a while to do), the Vidmaster Annual and DeJaVu (in ODST) are harder since you need four good people to play with. We can even ask Sandrock to join us if he's not busy.

    @Slicky;

    Awesome simile. That may just be enough to keep me away from that game.

    Let me know what times work for you this weekend to play Halo 3 then. I should just be playing games and talking to my fiance, so whenever you are able to play I will just try and make sure the living room tv near the internet connection is free so I can play online.

    @Sandrock

    If you are free sometime you would be a welcome addition to Halo 3 with me and Iceman.

  12. @Big Blak

    Yeah Pure is pretty good. I am making my way through the world tour now, about halfway done with all the races. Maybe a little more than that. A couple of the achievements are harder than I thought they would be for hearing people say it was a fairly laid back games. But still fun.
