Today’s Poll: Is the Seven-Inch iPad (Mini?) Real???

The rumors of a seven-inch iPad are swirling around the Apple universe. A smaller version of the iPad makes a lot of sense. For many users, the current model is simply too big and unwieldy to use as a lounging device; shrinking it down would allow the iPad to work for more people. For some people (tech nerds), the plain Jane IPS display isn’t cutting it — lots of gadget freaks are dreaming of an iPad that uses Apple’s vaunted “Retina Display” technology. Using that tech on a seven-inch screen would be cheaper than using it on the current 9.7-inch model.

Then again, this could all be a bunch of crap. I want to know what you think America (and hot women from Iceland). Kindly take today’s poll and share your thoughts on the matter.

  1. Apple always revises and re releases their products so I can totally buy this rumor and not the iPad.

  2. Since I am def in the iPad market once I pick up an in stock Android device, I would heavily consider the 7inch model. Especially if it has a Retina display.

  3. I voted it's true and i don't care. I really don't have a need for it. I think of it as a cripple laptop or netbook. I shouldn't have to pay for anything extra to play games or read books that i can do with my laptop or netbook.

  4. A 7 inch display just seems so awkward. Obviously it would be too big to fit into anyone's pocket, but I don't know where else you would carry something with a display that small.

you can jailbreak an ipad and you can also read books for free on it. If you have them in pdf version that is. I felt the same way you did when it was debuted but I have changed my mind completely on the device. BSU, Ray and I had a long thread about it some time ago.

    @bsu

It's meant to easily stick in a bag or some form of attache when on the go. Just like the IPad currently. Though with some of the crap I see some people wear now a days, I'm sure they could fit a server in their pockets. However the skinny white kids who wear man capris and rainbow belts while wearing skin tight t shirts would def have to use a bag.

I saw a few guys like that the other day when I went to buy some books for class. WTF is goin on now a days? Do these guys actually get laid by girls? I felt that I should go up to them and whip their asses just so they can know what a man is like.

I forgot about jailbreaking an iPad. Well then i'll have to think about it now but i would miss out on some pretty kool games i would play on my pc. I think those skinny kids wear a rainbow belt for a reason. you do know that's like gay flag, right?

they had women with them though. i've had to go to campus a few times the last week and I'm seeing it more and more.

You don't have to jailbreak an iPad or Iphone to read pdfs though. I don't think an iPad should be your only machine, but it is sure handy for on the go stuff. My friend uses logmein and can stream or do anything he wants on his always on Mac mini when he is away. That sold me.

  8. @smartguy

i guess, you're right the youth of america. i don't have a mac. maybe i should look into getting a mac since i killed my laptop.

  9. @Ray

That comparison makes more sense, and I could see how that would be more comfortable to hold in your hands. I am just trying to think where I would carry something like that, all of the space in any of my bookbags or anything has too much room to be thrown around inside which makes me more uncomfortable because it could break or get scratched more easily.

The minis are cheap. You can log in to any computer with the logmein client installed though. He just uses his mini because it just sits on a shelf plugged in. He doesn't even have a monitor plugged up to it. I have seen him log into his Asus laptop as well.

  11. this is most likely legit, especially since Apple is poised to bring Retina display (and hopefully liquid metal) to the new lineup.

I'd probably stick with the 9 inch, but I'd have to see the two next to each other. I'm hoping for size options, rather than only being available in 7 inch.
