URL Shortening for Republicans

GOP shortener

Yesterday I wrote about URL shorteners coming from Facebook and Google. If you want to shrink your URLs right-wing style then you ought the check out GOP.am. The web site aims to make long URLs…(wait for it)…conservative. Ha! That’s very cute.

  1. @Rick Roll – nothing will ever top the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends float in the Thanksgivings Day Parade last year when Rick Astley popped out and started singing. One of the Characters, Cheese I believe, yelled "I love Rick Rolls!" The utter hilarity of everyone watching getting rickrolled simultaneously was beyond comprehension.

  2. @Ray – just retweeted this. Have some friends that will get an absolute gas out of this lol.

  3. I have so many smart ass responses to this, they're getting intermingled with each other. I 'll just kick out a few:

The GOP never said much in the first place.

I'm sure the democrats are currently finding a way to negate this.

If this news comes from Fox… don't believe it.

Another way to stick it to Al Gore.

The list goes on and on.

  4. @N8R; Some more possible slogans for the site:

"The series of tubes has shortened." (Ted Stevens joke, google it)

"Less letters in our URL, but more pictures of (MILF of the Year) Palin."

    "Rush to our site today"

"Welcome to our new war on letters… also education"

"Look, we can fundraise and do cool stuff online, too… and better than Obama."

"Now with 75% less immigrants, gays, and hippies on our message boards."

"If you came here accidentally looking for the Greenfield Opera Playhouse, please click here."

"Try our new and improved 'Buy a Congressman' service. Prices starting at 1.2 million for Representatives and 2.3 million for senators. Combine and save 0.03% off!"
