This Week’s Videogame Releases

Anime fans in the U.S. have been anxiously awaiting the release of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and the game lands this week! Ni no Kuni comes from developer Level-5 and the legendary Studio Ghibli. I’m curious to see if the millions of people that love Studio Ghibli movies will pick up the game. Although I didn’t write the “new releases” post last week, I wanted to mention the new Devil May Cry. This time around, Capcom has entrusted the franchise to the capable hands of Ninja Theory. The developer has its share of fans, thanks to games like Heavenly Sword and Enslaved. The reviews have been great so far and I’m hoping that Ninja Theory gets to play around with more OPP franchises. Perhaps the company can go into the business of resuscitating stale videogame franchises.

Any of you picking up new games this week?

  1. I pulled down the demo of DMC this past weekend. I’m not impressed honestly. The controls seem to be ok except for the platforming elements. I can see dying needlessly to those poor controls and a dinky camera.

Unless it has a great narrative I think it is a skip for me. The textures look dated and the gameplay doesn’t seem that it will surpass or be on even footing with God of War. Maybe I expect too much out of a single player game.

also new Dante looks stupid. I prefer old white haired over the top Dante.

  2. None of these games, but I’m hoping to get another 3DS game this week. Not positive what, but possibly (probably) New Super Mario Bros. 2 or Super Mario 3D Land. I’d like to get Zelda OoT, but I think I’d rather get a Mario game to play right now.

  3. Yeah none of these games but Nintendo announced and showed a wind waker remake to be released soon. It looks freakin awesome!! Makes me want to get a wiiu

    1. … or you could just play the original Wind Waker on your Wii and save a whole bunch of money.
