This Week’s Videogame Releases

It’s a huge week for the gaming business with Microsoft’s launch of Halo 4 leading the way. It will surely be one of the biggest releases of 2012. Are you buying it? Racing fans get a pair of goodies with LittleBigPlanet Karting and NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. Do you miss fighting alongside Goku and the gang? Then pick up Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection and raise your power level to over 9,000. Not into shooting, racing, or fighting? How about some farming with Harvest Moon: A New Beginning? As a tactical-RPG mark, I have high hopes for Ragnarok Tactics (hopefully I can find my PSP). Lastly, if you’re looking for the most bang for your buck then you should consider Mass Effect Trilogy and Saints Row The Third: The Full Package.

Any of you picking up new games this week?

  1. I really want to pick up Halo 4, but I don’t think I can get that quite yet. I was supposed to be able to get that from work for the weekend, but I’ve been a little mad that I wasn’t able to because it has to be put in our system in order to be rented out, and the people who were supposed to do that didn’t.

    1. I want to play Halo 4 with a group of people that have not played it yet, but I am not ready to buy the game just now. My main Halo buddy got his wife pregnant (again) and I don’t think he can play with me as often… only after 10 pm. If we can find one more person, I would like the four of us to play for the first time together. Let me know when you plan to get the game and I will ask my friend the same. What do you say?

Personally, I want to get the Limited Edition, but I may have to wait to get my Christmas bonus next month to get it.

      1. I don’t have it now, but I have a feeling I will get it this weekend. As long as my schedule allows for it I will play through with you, my only problem now is a very inconsistent nighttime schedule with my current (hopefully soon to be previous) job. Let me know when think you will end up getting it and playing through.

      2. I’m going to try to get it from BB this weekend or next week (I have gift cards). My buddy is also going to try to get it soon with that AmEx offer I told him about. I think he’s going to order it online (even if it is currently out of stock). I’ll keep you posted. Let me know if you get it as well.

      3. I read it that way at first. I was wondering why Big Blak had Iceman’s copy of Halo 4?? lol

      4. See, this is why I don’t like to abbreviate anything. Every now and then, the smart-assery comes out to bite you in the… er, ass.

        Well played, sir.

      5. Me and my halo buddy (who I’ll refer to as C.I.) bought the game already. Go get the game and join us tonight at 9:30 pm EST if you can.

We plan to start on Legendary, so no sucking is allowed.

      6. I didn’t think you were bad when we played through Halo: Anniversary. It gets even better when there’s four people playing too.

      7. I plan to start the game with my friend, C.I. tonight at 9:30 pm EST. Feel free to join us. Just jump into my chat room when you see me online.

Dying is allowed, but sucking belongs at the Oriental massage parlor, not Halo.

  2. Yes ive pre-ordered it and should be picking this up thx to all the bonus trade in gift cards i got and the $20 gc for madden.

  3. By the way, if anyone has an American Express card and wants to buy Halo 4, Xbox and AmEx are having a ridiculous promotion going on now that allows you to get a free $10 for just syncing your AmEx card with Xbox, $50 off your purchase of $100 at Best Buy for getting the “Operation Completion” achievement and $25 on your credit card statement for getting the “Wake Up, John” achievement in Halo 4.

Which means, if you buy the Halo 4 limited edition ($99.99) at Best Buy with your synced AmEx card and unlock the achievements I mentioned, you will get the limited edition version of the game for a grand total of $15!!

  4. I am getting Halo 4, but after New Years. Can’t wait.

I’m too hooked on League still and I’ve preordered CoD through Amazon. That’s enough games for me for a month.

    Damn you League.
