This Week’s Videogame Releases

Let’s see…this week you can pick up Prototype 2 and…well, that’s about it. Wow. This week is bone dry. Thankfully Prototype 2 looks kind of cool. Any of you going to pick it up? Or maybe knock some games off you wish list?

  1. Waiting for Gotham by Gaslight, Spiderman Venom vs. Carnage, and Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate collection volumes 2 and 3 to get here. That's about all I've knocked off my wish list recently, so I'm still playing my older games.

Prototype 2 looked decent, but I'd rather play Halo and Batman Arkham City today instead.

    1. What was the problem with Prototype? I was mildly interested in buying it a while back, but I never pulled the trigger. I'm curious to get your take on it.

      1. The only thing that I ever liked about the game was the main character had a kick-ass name…well, last name at least.

      2. The camera was very wonky, the story was below so-so (to the point it was more fun doing anything but story missions) and you could get killed by stray fire while stuck in button mashing mini games.

      3. So if they fix the camera issues and get rid of the cheap deaths in Prototype 2, then the game would be fun (assuming all of the other game mechanics are identical) regardless of story?

      4. Not really. I found the controls to be far too "loose" as well. Add to that that I was completely uninspired to play the game by it's plot, so "more of the same" doesn't strike my fancy at all.

      5. Yeah, you know, just running around the city randomly killing people was more fun than anything the game actually wanted me to do. But that left me feeling like "ok, that was cool for 15 minutes, but now what?" Is that worth $60? No. No way.

  2. Nope nothing new for me. Since I'm transitioning from one job to another and have this week off I should really look into finishing dead rising 2 soon.
