  1. Why is the American translator guy talking over the Japanese guy? I can't understand a word neither one of them are saying.

    1. it's still going on. don't know how much longer the press event is going to last though.

  2. That conference was, of course, better than the big Microsoft's conference. The announcements weren't as good as Sony's (except Smash Bros), but they presented it very well.

    1. Nintendo always puts on a good presentation. I really liked the Nintendo event, but I don't know that I can say it was ebtter than Microsoft's. I am more likely to purchase some of the games shown at the Microsoft event, despite how much Nintendo entertained me. I will probably purchase some of those games eventually, but I think Microsofot games will be done so first. If I know I'm going to buy games shown at the Microsoft press event first then I don't think I can say Nintendo won this year overall.

      1. Most of the interesting announcements were the 3DS's 1st party support. That's why I liked it better than Microsoft.

  3. I'm not to hip with the new Wii. The stick placement looks bad and they didn't show any 1st party support.

If I want a handheld I'll use a dedicated handheld or iPad.

    Pass

  4. Assassin's Creed creator was just asked "What do you think about Nintendo's new console's name?" His answer? "No comment". Thank you, Ubisoft.

    1. That's interesting. Really puts a hole in some of the other stuff I read that said it can be played away from the TV set. haha.

Kinda feels they announced this a bit too early unless it is coming out in early 2012.

      1. I feel like the entire press conference was too misleading now. Nintendo's just dropped into last for me, just because they were so sneaky.

      2. I dunno. Like I mentioned earlier…putting your game on the controller as opposed to the 4 figure HDTV on your set up is a no go for me. It is not a selling point to me.

      3. He makes it sound like it has to be pointed at it to get it to work. I was hoping for….."Hey kids take that into the other room" type thing.

Does it work via IR, WiFi, or bluetooth? If it is IR I am going to go ahead a deem it worthless because the arm of the couch would kill it. If it is the either of the other 2 why can't I take it elsewhere.

      4. I hear that, the Turtle Beach X4's use IR tech and if I'm not sitting in directly in front of the base (tower/receiver/transmitter, w/e) the sound quality drops tenfold.

  5. @Ray

Question: Do they have more than one of these controllers working on a single console? Or is it one of the fancy controllers and a bunch of shaky wii motes?

    1. No, it's one controller per console. Nintendo's booth is way too crowded for anything else. The lines for Wii U are already over an hour. Managing multiple people per console would be difficult for the wranglers.

      1. Just curious. I'm more interested to see how the new tech works with itself as opposed to 5 year old Wii Motes.

  6. From Neoseeker.com

"The Wii U "tablet" controller will reportedly not be sold separately at retail."

  7. Reuters says Nintendo stock dropped by 6.5% after the Press Conference to a new 6 year low…..interesting when investors don’t like what you are putting out there.

      1. Lol. Thats what I was afraid of. That is pretty much the reason I never turn my 360 on. I just can't stand to pay the extra. And it isn't that its MS its just I never know what my mood will be from you month to the next. I hate paying for things I don't use. Speaking of, Netflix may be on its way back out my door. I used it a lot for a week, now I feel like I am out of things to watch.
