Ashton Kutcher and UberMedia Launch A.plus Twitter App

Celebrity nerd Ashton Kutcher has teamed up with UberMedia to launch a Twitter app call A.plus. The app runs on Adobe Air (Mac OS and Windows) and is available now. Even though geeks should hate him on paper, Kutcher is actually a pretty savvy tech enthusiast and investor. He’s also one of the most popular Twitter users in the world. I’m curious to see if his popularity will help this app take off.

I’m going to give A.plus a spin this week. It’ll be tough letting go of TweetDeck, but I’m always down to try something new and exciting. How about you? Any interest in A.plus?

    1. You "know" at least four people just from this site. I'm sure there are others. You should start an account for the family restaurant. Tweet pictures of the sandwiches, announce specials, etc.

  1. What differentiates twitter from Facebook?

You should do a big write up on social media to educate the uninformed. I'm told I should use LinkedIn

    1. I've been told I should use LinkedIn as well, and I have one, but I have never heard of anyone actually getting a job because of it or anything. But it is more professional than a facebook, it's basically an account showcasing an online resume with some extra bells and whistles like adding presentations or publications and the ability to network and connect with other people based on job and industry.

      1. I couldn't disagree more. Way too small in scope. I have contacts on LinkedIn from all over the world. A lot of them have come in handy during travels domestically and internationally.

      2. You kidding?

        Good exercise

Lots of folks in a 10 team league

        Professionals from similar industries

If you want to network outside of your parish (county) I'd agree the scope is narrow

For a local job hunt or keeping your name out there I think it's very valuable. I hear it's better than being in a carnival krewe though.

    2. Twitter is more focused than Facebook. All Twitter messages are 140 characters or less. People like the quickness and brevity of Twitter. Facebook allows you to share more kinds of information and has more features, like gaming, polls, etc.
