What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I’ll be flying home tonight after an excellent DICE 2011 and I’m positive that I won’t play any games tonight. I’ve been getting by on a couple of hours of sleep for the last two nights, including one night of crazy partying. My body is looking forward to a nice night of sleep.

That said, I’m sure as hell going to jump back into DC Universe Online on Saturday. There are a bunch of level 30 missions waiting for me and the rest of the Super Buddies. Random DCUO observation: when I’m waiting for friends to join me online, I love beating the crap out of random Sinestro Corps members. As some of you know, I’m a big Green Lantern fan. Pounding the crap out of Sinestro’s minions and his dreaded lieutenant Arkillo is just gratifying. Getting Kilowog’s approval is pretty excellent too.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. Pokemon, homework, and heading up to see my fiance for the weekend. Also planning on watching more Battlestar Gallactica and hopefully the movie Red tonight.

  2. Splinter Cell; Conviction.

If you guys think that Modern Warfare and ODST have a short campaign- brother, you haven't seen anything until you play this game. Splinter Cell Conviction has got to be (without a doubt) the SHORTEST campaign I have ever played for a big budget, AAA game.

I kid you not when I tell you that you can beat the game in about five to ten hours. It's kind of a disappointment from the epic Splinter Cell games of yore.

There is compensation, however. There is a unique co-op mode (even shorter than the main campaign story if you can believe that) and "Deniable Ops" missions which is the Splinter Cell equivalent to "Horde Mode" and "Challenge Maps/Rooms" to be done solo or with a friend.

So, in other words, they've shortened the main game and added in a whole lot of filler.

The Splinter Cell franchise is becoming the "Taco Bell" of the video game industry.

      1. I may take you up on your offer. I don't think my wife is too keen on helping me out with the co-op. We'll see.

  3. Just beat Assassin's Creed for the first time and will be mailing it back tomorrow. Not sure what I will play in the down time. I might just end up reading the Law of Nine by Terry Goodkind so I can see how it ties into his Sword of Truth series.

  4. So I just watched the movie "Red." Now that was my kind of comedy (I don't like standard comedy by any means). I definitely would recommend that to everyone if you haven't seen it already.
