According to Nintendo of American president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo’s immediate threats are Apple, Zynga, the Internet, and newspapers. He recently told Forbes:
I compete with Zynga, I compete with surfing the net, I compete with the newspaper.
Regarding Apple, Fils-Aime said:
Do I think that in the near term they can hurt us more than Microsoft? Absolutely.
I know that most of you RPad.tv regulars aren’t down with Nintendo products, but let’s play a game anyway. What companies, products, and services are Nintendo’s stiffest competition?
I would say Apple is number one. Its hard for me to think of anything else because I own zero Nintendo products and I can not see anything else being as threatening as Apple.

several things wrong with this post…..first, its redundant, i used the word "still" twice in one sentence
also, glass joe was not the protaganist in mike tyson's punch out, only in the arcade version of punch out

Reggie shoots lasers out of his eyes. Unless I'm mistaken, Piston Honda didn't have that remarkable ability.
I think you are mistaken, Mr. Padilla. I'm pretty sure that Mr. Fils-Aime shoots lasers out of his chin. His eye beams are used for hypnotizing people.

I have always loved Nintendo's handhelds. I have not always owned them, but they are a big reason for why I am even into video games today. I can definitely understand why both Zynga and Apple are immediate threats to Nintendo, especially the handhelds. But I would hope that there are enough people out there who can see that Nintendo has more depth to their games. Yeah I have my iPod touch, but I am more excited about finally getting another Nintendo handheld than I ever was for getting the iPod touch. Can't really say a whole lot about Zynga applications or games because I have ever only played one of them (mafia wars on facebook) and it was the biggest waste of time and was not fun at all so I never messed with another one again.
To me Nintendo is comfortable, I don't always like the games or systems that much (I'm looking at you gamecube, gamecube controller, and mario kart wii) but I think their handhelds have always been #1 by a longshot and they will always remain there for me.
