Coffee Talk #211: Gaming Binds Us Together

Warning: I’m going to get a little sappy on you today. You see, as I was in Asia playing Wordfeud for Android with Big Blak and Slickyfats, I was amazed at how gaming brought us all together. Whether it’s reading the stuff I write, talking it up in the comments section, or playing games together while thousands of miles apart, gaming binds us (like The Force in Star Wars). It’s just a powerful and awesome thing.

Welcome to Coffee Talk! Let’s start off the day by discussing whatever is on your (nerd chic) mind. Every morning I’ll kick off a discussion and I’m counting on you to participate in it. If you’re not feelin’ my topic, feel free to start a chat with your fellow readers and see where it takes you. Whether you’re talking about videogames, Felix Hernandez’s case for the AL Cy Young Award, Shelley Malil accidentally stabbing his girlfriend more than 20 times, or when the hell the MacBook Air will be refreshed, Coffee Talk is the place to do it.

I “met” most of you while I was at G4tv and for various reasons, we just clicked. I’m incredibly honored that you followed me here and spend part of your day with me. Sure, we talk about sports, pop culture, tech, GHM, and Adam Lambert icons, but at the end of the day we were brought together by our love of games. After all the crazy things that have happened to me in the last year, I’m just amazed by it all and super appreciative of your company/support.

Before I get misty, I’d love to hear some of your stories on how gaming introduced you to friends and loved ones. Hopefully it sets us all up for feel-good weekends!

  1. I'm certain I've said this here before, but my wife and I talked about Final Fantasy on our first date.

  2. Although my fiance is not really a gamer, after buying her an xbox it is really fun for us to find games that we can play together or games that I can get her to play. She LOVES Def Jam: Icon, Crash Bandicoot, Left 4 Dead, Plants vs. Zombies. When I get her playing L4D I would come home and find her awake (she was usually still asleep when I got back) and playing online yelling at people and working with them to beat the other team, etc. It was great. Of course also not so great when I didn't get to use my iPod touch for a week or two because she was too busy playing Plants vs. Zombies for me to even think about getting close to it, lol.

    Also, I am really glad that being on G4 at the time I was led me to here because I absolutely love playing and talking games and everything else with everyone here. I don't think I can say it any better than that, everyone here is absolutely great to hang out with, or as close as we can get to actually hanging out. This site dominates my web usage, it is always up on at least one browser, usually two, on my laptop. Here's to many more great days ahead with all of you here!

  3. @ray

    when you left g4, all the talent on that staff left with you..its almost been a year since you made that fateful trip to TGS on your birthday…are you going back to tokyo this year?

    will you be recieving any more emails from executives wanting to go in a "different direction"?

  4. i've met great friends not only through gaming but most of my friends or my core group is from people that i went to high school with. Gaming is just another bond that keeps us together. As for me and my gf our love of art, mainly grafitti, is the bond that brought us together. Her playing Fifa 99 on our first date with me because i had no car even though she didn't know how to play told me that she was a keeper. Her and I have been off from 99 to 04, but in 04 i guess she finally decided to grow up.

    I'm glad that we have our little site and that Rpad keeps it going even though it probably isn't his bread winner. Thank you all very much for being you guys and for any help you've given or offered. I'll probably won't post much today since i have a order with 89 different addresses to enter but it's better than not having work.

  5. Yeah aside from Cami, I met all of you in that brief time I was commenting on G4. I almost missed the opportunity to keep up with everyone if it wasn't for Ray twitting about this site. At the time, I had no access to G4 so I completely missed what all happened there and was surprised and pleased that Ray was starting his own site.

    /cheers

  6. @nightshade

    how would you know???

    you whore!!

    @ff

    i love how drew brees had a mediocre game and im over 24000 points behind…its impossible to employ any kind of strategy with that scoring system, but it sure is fun…lol

    if your team defense sucks that week, you are pretty much screwed…this is what ive been able to figure out so far

  7. @sandrock

    you and cami are dating or married?

    thats what ive always assumed. Have i been a fool all this time?

  8. Yeah I got lucky and added Ray on LinkedIn and he told me about this place a couple days after it had gotten started. Best connection I have made on LinkedIn!!

    Also, thanks to @N8R for saying whatever he said to Ray to help convince him to start this site.

    @Thunder

    If that is the case then I need to trade or get damn lucky this season. I had to leave for the last couple picks on the draft and my fiance picked the Colts as my defense because she knows I like the Colts and the team I told her to pick was gone by the time she made that pick. I still love her though.

  9. @nightshade that must of been some first date

    @topic love the site and the daily conversations we have

  10. I'm definitely a huge fan of the site.

    I was trying to think of a way the other day to show my appreciation for everyone here, but I couldn't think of a way without seeming sappy out of left field. Thank you Ray for this.

    I met most of if not all of you over at the other site. I started commenting there like 3 years ago at my old job. Now, you all know my real name, most of my preferences, and we do alot of communication on a few levels. I know most of your real names as well. I'd say that makes us friends even if we never met face to face.

    Cheers.

  11. Me and Thundercracker used to drive people crazy on the other site. N8R, who was on the other side, really hit it off with me and knew not to take us serious. When Ray left and I got word that he started his own site I signed up immediately. I enjoy our conversations here. I feel like if we were to all meet up we would have a great time.

  12. @N8R

    It's your loss. Pick your own poison. Dennis Dixon will complete a few passes to a few Falcons for sure after seeing him in the pre-season.

  13. @ RROD

    Well, it seems like you have trouble with the avatar thing… so that's off the table.

    How about we just raise the stakes. If the Falcons win, I'll swear to buy a PS3 in the next year. If, you swear to buy a 360 in the next year WHEN the Steelers win.

  14. @ RROD

    I should be more clear so there's no chance of me hustling you.

    "How about we just raise the stakes. If the Falcons win *against the Steelers this coming Sunday*, I’ll swear to buy a PS3 *sometime* in the next year. If, you swear to buy a 360 in *sometime* the next year WHEN the Steelers win *against the Falcons on this coming Sunday.*"

  15. Man that was a bit more touching than I thought it was going to be.

    I used to love hanging out at G4 with everyone. I'm glad that all of the people I conversed with over there came here. I have only been back on there a few times, but it is pretty worthless for the most part.

    I don't have very many personal friends that play games with me. Most of my friends don't even own a console or play games. The ones that do play games play party games on their Wiis. I only have 2 friends that I actually game with on a regular basis. So y'all are my most game-centered friends. And that is why I like coming here so much. It nice to have that one big thing in common and its nice that no one makes fun of me here for not caring that much for sports. My other friends know that I used to play tons of sports but can't get that I don't like watching them.

    Anyway before I ramble too much more, its always nice to have people to talk to. Thanks.

  16. @ Slicky

    I totally get the sentiment about not watching sports but playing sports. That makes more sense to me than my sentiment of watching sports but not playing sports. The only reason I never really played sports was because I started playing music at an early age and feared injuring my hands. The wrestling coach in my high school tried to hit me up everyday based on my size and stature, but I declined him for the reasons I stated.

    I for example could play golf, but I can't watch it. Thje only reason I ever started watching football (which I did come around to late) was because of the social events that would take place in Pittsburgh revolving around Steeler games. I used to watch baseball with my dad as a kid, but the strike screwed that all up. Now I'm finding a social gathering with UFC matches that can be fun.

    The only reason I'm in to hockey is because I LOVE the EA NHL games.

  17. @N8R

    I have no trouble with the avatar thing, I'm just lazy and haven't put one up. Let's do that. If the Falcons lose I'll rock a Steeler logo and if the Steelers lose you rock a Falcons logo. Deal?

  18. @ RROD

    That works for me, but we can only rock the avatars for a week at a time because the Steelers play just about everyone on here's team this year.

    We already beat Nightshade's… but that was preseason and doesn't count.

  19. @ RROD

    Deal

    Turns out, it won't get hectic for me until week 6. I got Iceman and Smartguy's team back to back. Then the Bengals, then Big Blak's team, then the Raiders, and then Thundercracker's team.

    I'm happy that none of you are Bengals fans.

    As for you Colts fans… we'll make our wagers come the playoffs.

  20. @N8R: Yeah, the preseason matters about as much as the "points" on Who's Line is it Anyway. That being said, after the absurd collapse the G-Men had last season we're taking this season one week at a time….

  21. @ tokz

    I have to see it in more detail to be fair.

    However, considering it's a period piece, I could see the director not wanting his outfit to look COMPLETELY out of place while he's standing next to period American soldiers and Nazis.

    His Avengers costume I'm sure will look more like the Cap we know.

  22. Most of my friends except one that I grew up with play WoW. We have our own guild and do our own raids. It's pretty neat. A few of us always buy the same console game and hook up online. Old school us would just buy a 64 controller and bring it to my friend Tommy's house since his dad loved games and let us play on his huge ass TV. Goldeneye and WCW games were the best back then. Before that me and a friend would take turns playing FF7 or would stay up all night playing (pardon the phoenetic spelling here) Why-Lay Golf or Mace.

    Sandrock is pretty good at BC2. I enjoyed playing a few rounds with him. Otherwise I'm just here to pop off at the mouth and play devil's advocate.

  23. @n8r

    I dont like it. Maybe i'll like it when i see it in action. Dude, theres now way that costume woul help blend him in with other soldiers. Its so bright and new looking. It needed to be dulled out.

  24. I talked to a few of you guys over at g4tv, and when I heard that Ray was making his own site, It was happy/sad news. But I'm glad this site is here and am glad that everyone of you guys comments here as well.

  25. @Tokz

    Yeah I was hoping for a more 40s stylized look llke he had in the Avengers animated movie. The old Capt American uni is the best in my opinion.

    @Ray

    I love you plugged GHM.

    ha, plugged.

  26. @smartguy

    i forgot they had an animated movie about the Avengers. i'll have to watch it, so i can see what you are talking about.

  27. My first week of gaming on xbl while playing Far Cry 2 I met these Dutchmen and lady. We hit it off, they are very chill and laid back like me and we talk at least once a week now for almost two years. Funny thing was for about 6 months I had no idea that they were neighbors in real life and also the lady and one of the Dutchmen are a couple. I can honestly say that because of xbl I am internationally know, I have friends in Holland, China, South Africa, England, Brazil, and Australia to name a few places as well as you fine gents.

  28. Aww,

    I love you guys, too! It's so hard to find decent, intelligent conversation with a group of people online. It's what really makes this place stand out. Not to mention that a lot of people here are ridiculously funny sometimes that I know that I'm going to laugh at least once a day reading someone's comments. I also enjoy playing online with people from this site. It's way better than playing with random 12-year-olds. It kind of makes me feel like Michael Jackson when I hear their parents walk into the background and ask "who are you talking to?"

    On the topic of the NFL bets; I think my first game against a rival fan on this site is Big Blak (Patriots) on October 4th. If I loose, I will sport a Patriots logo for a week or something equally demeaning. But if the Dolphins win, you'll have to sport either a Dolphins Logo or Adam Lambert avatar.

    What do you say, Big Blak?

    -M

  29. @iceman

    true. big blak is one of a kind. yeah there is a bill fan. go bug thundercracker about an avatar bet too.

  30. @ Iceman

    I can afford M$ points for dolly dress up lol but I will agree to rock the Dolphins logo IF they beat the Pats.

  31. @ Iceman & Tokz

    * Can't afford. Wow I just googled Adam Lambert lmfao!!! that is pretty bad. Wait till you see my new pic lol its even more ridiculous than Zed and Goldar lol.

  32. I think it's been really awesome meeting you guys here. I never personally posted on G4, I was more of a reader cause usually the posters just made me angry lol.

    @thundercracker – Nope Sandrock and I are friends only, lol. I'm married. My hubby occasionally visits this site, mainly b/c I go on about it a lot lol.

  33. @Big Blak;

    Ok, how about we do it straight up; If the %*#&@! Patriots win, I will grudgingly bear their logo as my Gravatar for a week, but if the Dolphins put them in their place (which they will), you have to sport the Dolphins logo for a week.

    Deal?

    -M

  34. You will be sporting a Patriots logo I'm afraid. Have you seen Brady's hair? They can't lose on that factor alone!!

  35. @ Iceman

    Thats a deal my friend just to up a notch winner gets to chose the pic and they meet twice a season so you'll be gravataring the GD PATS for 2 weeks this year lol.

  36. Ha! You should see my hair, Smartguy. It's inspirational. Just like my XBL Avatar's.

    It's ironic that in my longest-running fantasy football league with my real life friends, Tob Mbrady (as the alcoholics like to refer to him) has actually been my star keeper for the past five years. I've never won 1st place in that league, however.

    I blame the Patriots and not Keyshawn Johnson. It helps me sleep better at night.

    -M

  37. @Big Blak;

    Deal! I'm going to go find a picture of a Dolphin sodomizing a Revolutionary War soldier now. God bless the internet!

    -M

    P.S.- Nice new image. I hope you're not commenting on this site from a poorly lit-porno theater.

  38. @thundercracker Unfortunately I won't be attending TGS this year. It's a bummer because so many of my friends are hanging out in Japan before and after the show. I was expecting to have some contract work waiting for me after I returned from Asia, but so far nothing yet. It doesn't matter because I couldn't really afford the trip anyway. Ha!

    @SlickyFats I'm surprised that most of your friends don't own consoles. That just sounds crazy to me.

    @smartguy Of course I plugged GHM! The only reason I know about it is because of you guys.

  39. Ah. Another reason I love it here. EVERYONE IS CIVIL. I can't stand people cutting other people down for their comments on a regular basis.

    @Ray

    Most of my friends have young kids and no money or time for games. Also they just have never played them or care to try.

  40. @Tokz;

    You may be right, but I didn’t know which one he’d be more embarrassed to have as his avatar. This is a guy, after all, that has Zed and Goldar as his icon now. How do you get any cheesier than that?

    Wait! Isn’t there a Bills fan here? I can’t remember, but I think some in here is a Buffalo fan. If that’s the case, the Dolphins play the Bills this Sunday.

    -M

  41. @Big Blak
    i say that if Iceman wins he should buy you the avatar clothing and you rock it for a month.
    Also, dude i can’t believe you didn’t know who Adam Lambert is!

  42. @iceman

    you get the bills week 1…that means you get my team

    i dont blame you for not knowing the bills are my team though, im gonna be rocking so different logos this year, itll be hard for me to tell too

  43. @Cami

    I go on and on about this place to my fiance too, lol. She probably thinks I'm a little crazy sometimes, oh well, she still agreed to marry me. haha.

  44. @bsukenyan

    Haha, that's still awesome tho. I think my hubby has more interest now b/c you all go on about football. He's a big Colts fan, likes Dwight Freeny. Man, I'm suprised I remembered that lol. But as far as game console related between me and him is a little complicated. He might think he physically owns the ps3, but most of the ps3 games up there are for me :D muhahahaha.

    @iceman

    lol at the girl comment :P

  45. On a side note, today is freakout day for me. My mom is gonna be on a plane, for the first time in her life. To NY no less, on 9/11. Least she's going with her twin sister, who has a week long business ordeal up there so she opted to fly my mom with her. But still.

  46. Well, my official "Dead Console" list is up to 8. Our PSP has decided it no longer wants to read memory cards. So we're weighing whether we want to spend $90 to send it back to SONY for repairs, or just buy a newer one. but for those keeping score at home, here's the new rundown of console's I've killed:

    PS2's: 3

    XBOX's: 2

    360's: 2

    PSP's 1

    Meaning that SONY and Microsoft are back into a tie for the title of "crappiest hardware I've ever bought."

  47. @Nightshade

    I don't know too much about the PSP's, but I would think at the high of a price it would be a better option to get a new PSP.

    @New xbox

    I am a little pissed that Amazon kept telling me that I could get my new 360 bundle delivered the day that Halo: Reach comes out (since it is a limited edition bundle with the game and everything) but they have me put down for a September 16th delivery. And I'm no math wiz, but I swear there is a 2 day difference between the 14th when the game releases and the 16th when my bundle is supposed to be delivered. So not only was my same day delivery not an option but the 2 days that they estimate is their 1 day shipping. Again, I swear there is something wrong with their math if 1 day delivery takes 2 days.

    I am much happier to buy it through amazon to support Ray than buy it at a store somewhere, but I just wish I would have known to look forward to getting everything 2 days after I have been anticipating. Guess I might be renting Reach for 2 days then before I actually get everything.

  48. @Thundercracker;

    I'm sorry; I completely forgot about you being a Bills fan and this week's first game. If you read this before the game starts and agree to the bet that the loser of the game has to sport an image of Adam Lambert for a week, then it's on. The winner of the game gets to pick the image of Adam Lambert that the loser will have to rock for a week.

    Hopefully, you'll read this before 1:00 p.m. and agree because I have a great image of A.L. just waiting for you.

    @Bsukenyan;

    That sucks. I'm going to check out Sandrock's schedule on his Facebook page to coordinate a time we can all get on. Keep me posted. Have you finished Alan Wake or are you still fighting with your girlfriend over Plants v. Zombies?

    -M

  49. @ RROD

    Hell of a game, dude.

    A completely defensive game. I think our D out performed your D though because your D clearly didn't have to work as hard. Their early mistake of not double covering Hines Ward cost the ultimately. Otherwise, you would have won.

    Matt Ryan also screwed up by underestimating Troy Polamalu.

    Our Offense… made TONS of mistakes.

  50. im the team playing you arguello

    ill take flacco, ill trade you lesean mccoy, even though i think that trade works out better for you

    i got depth

    if you like jahvid best (see what i did there?) we can go there too

  51. @Big Blak (or anyone else who could answer this)

    How can we see what players scored this week? All I can find is what my starters and what Iceman's team scored, when I try to check just my bench it still only shows me projections. I would have thought that that would have been the kind of information I could have found already. Thanks!

  52. @bsu

    Click on "league" then go to schedule under it. From there you can select matchups and view the bench.

  53. @Smartguy

    Ok thanks. I was finding some scores, just not all of them that I wanted to see. I mostly don't like how if I click on a player it shows their projections not what they scored.

  54. @N8R

    I'm a man of my word but I can't seem to get my gravatar to work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

  55. @RROD

    I could be completely off here, but I think if you clear your cache it should show up. Pretty sure I have that problem every time I change gravatars because if I don't clear my cache it keeps the old pic saved (which is why I don't change mine too often).

  56. Important win for the G-Men yesterday, but certainly not a great performance. Eli's gonna get blamed for 3 INT's that all went off of the receiver's hands and bounced up into the air. Too many dropped passed in all. The running game was start/stop. Tye defense looked pretty good though.

  57. @ RROD

    It was a nail-biter though.

    The last time before this that the Steelers and the Falcons met at Heinz Field, it ended in a tie.

  58. No undefeated season talk for the colts this year, though my Texans need to work on their pass coverage

  59. @Redtailman

    That was not a good season opener. They did not play well together at all. I think some of the talk about undefeated seasons is overrated though with the Colts, they need to focus on each game and I seem to remember them not playing so well together when they get closer to the end of an undefeated season. Also, since Painter is a horrible QB and Manning gets taken more often before playoffs, those games don't go too well either.

  60. @Thundercracker;

    Don't worry about the Adam Lambert thing (and for the love of god, don't google image it, either), you've suffered enough. The Dolphins logo will suffice. Thanks for that. I was honestly worried in the fourth quarter there for a bit when Trent went with the no-huddle, hurry-up offense. I had flashbacks of the horrible Dolphin's '06-'07 season.

    By the way; the guy who scored that touchdown for you, Roscoe Parish… he's a former Miami Hurricane. And if you don't know who the Hurricanes are, don't worry; N8 will be rocking their logo very soon.

    @N8;

    Pittsburgh is not Ohio State. Still, I've been saying since last year (and now is when people are starting to listen to me): Jacory Harris sucks.

    @ Big Blak;

    HA! You wish!

    -M

  61. @Redtailman

    Haha. I understand, all that matters to me is the Colts beating the Pats (sorry @Big Blak, you just got the bad luck of liking all the teams I don't lol).

  62. @ Iceman

    I don't really follow college ball, but that's what I get for taking your word for it.

    I did check the schedule and noticed that the 'Canes play the Panthers (or the Pants' I suppose) in like 2 weeks or something.

    @ thinking of Miami in 2 weeks

    Dexter starts it's new season in 2 weeks.

  63. @BSU: Manning Bowl next weekend between you and me. I say loser has to rock an avatar showing the glory of the "other" Manning.

  64. @N8

    Thanks, I figured I would find something decent.

    I thought the other manning was Christopher Manning the Computer Science and Linguistics professor at Stanford.

    @Nightshade

    Sounds good to me. I want the Colts to win, but Eli is one of my FF QB's so either he or Orton needs to do well.

  65. @BSU: It's a bet then.

    @Eagles fans everywhere: I don't care how "good" Michael Vick looked in garbage time yesterday, he's still a certifiable douche bag. If you REALLY want him to be your QB, you're begging for the inevitable arrest or other such issue to pop up. So good luck with that.

  66. @ Nightshade

    Wow, that was kinda harsh lol. I got their D for FF so I don't really care about Vick haha!

  67. ^ Absolutely! I need a bye week TE for week 8 Boss got a neck injury and he could be out for a while.

  68. @BB: I'm of the opinion that calling a guy arrested for running a dog fighting ring a "certifiable douche bag" isn't really all that harsh. In fact, I could have chosen to be much harsher.

  69. @Ray

    Did my xbox order ever show up with however you see stuff through amazon? I used the links so I hope it went through!

    @new xbox

    just got an email from amazon saying it was shipped so I still might get it tomorrow. I will be very happy indeed if that happens, so I am crossing my fingers!

    @Vick

    I still think it was a shame Vick went to jail for the whole dog fighting thing. Sure you can say that he should be accountable even though he is a professional athlete, but I've seen comparisons done before where in some cases celebrities actually end up doing more time than an average citizen. I could care less about the dog fighting, and if the argument turns to Vick being an example then reanalyze your whole stance on the issue. He wouldn't need to be an example if everyone was held to the same standard, he is only an example so that other celebrities can get away with more things.

  70. @ Nightshade

    I agree with you kind sir he is a d bag, here is what was kind of harsh to me "If you REALLY want him to be your QB, you’re begging for the inevitable arrest or other such issue to pop up." I though he looked pretty good playing, however I believe in 2nd chances and yes what he did was a total dick move, but to say he is going to get arrested again, or that some other negative thing happens to him, was perceived by me, as kind of harsh. Thats all sir. You must have a dog or something, I find that people that have and LOVE their canine family members still hate Vick, even though he already did his time and nearly lost everything. (Nightshade I am not defending the douches actions I'm just analyzing my thoughts from a third party perspective)

  71. @ Vick dog fighting

    At this point, he's probably saved more dogs' lives than he ever cost with all the work he's done for the humane society and such.

    It was my understanding that he wasn't even the initial target of the investigation nor did he "run" the ring. He bred dogs to do it and the initial investigation involved 3 guys who were WAY deeper involved than Vick ever was but all of them took plea deals to roll on a celebrity making it a higher profile case.

    Did he get railroaded… yes, was it worth it in the long run all things considered… quite possibly.

    I wish him and his family the best.

  72. @N8R

    He financed it, that would mean he had significant influence.

    The sheer cruelty in the way they killed underperforming dogs is disgusting. Dog fighters often have docile animals for their fighters to mangle. I don't care how many stalls he cleans at the humane society, I will not forgive him for those actions.

    That said, he did pay a lot for his stupid and disgustingly heinous actions. Both time and money. He's entitled the 2nd chance he is now on.

    I'd still take him in FF.

    Full disclosure I'm a huge dog lover.

  73. @ Smartguy

    I already got the trade pending to drop Santonio for him.

    Just trading one criminal for another.

  74. @ N8R

    LMAO trading criminals.

    @ SG

    I did not mean to offend bro I love dogs too, I just think cats are better lol.

  75. Full disclosure: I'm also a dog lover (though my wife is allergic, thus I cannot have one now), but I also lived in Eagle country for 10 years and I know how those people are. they'll be ready to forgive and forget all wrongs done by the guy so long as he's the back up. Once he starts and has a bad game, they'll be calling him some of the worst shit you can imagine. That, in a nutshell, is a Philadelphia fan.

  76. Come on N8R, you've lived in PA, you know what those people are like. The farther east you go in the state of Pennsylvania, the more obnoxious the people get. Once you get west of Harrisburg, they're actually pretty nice folks.

  77. @ Nightshade

    Ya, know… it's tough to argue with that.

    I know some pretty cool people in the Lancaster area… but that's about it. They are some fair weather fans though.

    And G. Love kicks ass.

  78. @ Ray

    Amish people are indeed allowed to use modern technologies, they just can't be connected to the rest of the world with it. For example, if those microwaves are on an independent generator of whatever energy source… than they are okay. If they are on the grid like just about everyone else… it's no bueno.

  79. @BB

    No way dude. You didn't offend. Btw, did you resync the league after all the teams were added? I honestly did not realize I was on a bye until sunday morning.

    @N8R

    We'll see who is where on the waiver order tomorrow then lol.

    @Ray

    That made me laugh. Thanks lol.

  80. @Vick

    He did the crime and he did the time. He paid his debt to society. Kevin Kolb clearly stinks and if Andy Reid wants to win then he will start Mike Vick. I would love to have Vick back in Atlanta considering how underwhelming Matt Ryan has been performing.

  81. @Vick

    Also to clarify, I too love dogs…I still don't have negative feelings towards his actions in the past.

    I was actually sad to see Vick have to leave the Falcons, I wanted to see what he was going to be able to do there. I think he would have done some good things with the falcons.

  82. That was one of the worst games of football I've ever watched. The Jets are horrible. What exactly was all that off season bravado about? Me and 10 friends could go out and get our asses kicked like that, and it would probably cast the franchise a hell of a lot less money.

  83. @ Ray

    I hear ya. I'm sure if the generators were built by the Amish, they'd last forever at 3 times the power of any other generator.

    My brother told me about an Amish funeral/wake he went to. One of his neighbors got kicked in the head by one of his work horses. The funeral was at the guy's house… 4 days later to allow family to make it from the other side of the state… and they aren't allowed to use embalming fluid…

    Think about it.
