This Week’s Videogame Release

I’m still getting back into the swing of things in America, but as far as I can tell there’s only one interesting game out this week: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. As a comic-book nerd and videogame nerd, I’m all over this one…except that the “Witch Hunt” DLC for Dragon Age: Origins is also out this week. Sorry Spidey, BioWare takes priority over you.

Any of you down with Shattered Dimensions? Perhaps there’s something else on your wish list for this week? Remember, with great power comes….

  1. I am waiting for the reviews on Spidey to come out. I've been burned by the last few games that have come out starring our friendly neighborhood wall crawler… and with a release this close to Halo (haven't decided if I am taking that plunge yet) I am kind of questioning what they have going.

  2. I have not heard much about the Spider-Man game, although it does look interesting. But I will probably rent this and check it out. I am preparing to put in my pre-order for the Halo: Reach xbox bundle (still in the final stages of making sure I'm not gonna buy this and then find out that I have to get my fiance something really nice as well to stay out of trouble). Also I will be picking up Plants vs. Zombies asap tomorrow.

Still gotta finish up Alan Wake, Afro Samurai (I will probably come back to that game later when I need a filler game that's cheap), and Army of Two with my friend whenever we get a chance to play [the A-games are dominating right now, lol].

  3. i beat demons souls last weekend, so ill just be playing madden and transformers:war for cybertron

  4. @Thunder

Isn't that supposed to be the really hard game that I hear people talking about? How was it? And how hard is it really?

  5. @Ray

    Air Attack

Katamari (iPhone version is very playable now)

    ShooterHD

    Critical Wave

Final Fantasy 1 is better now as well.

  6. @bsu

sorry guys, my schedule sucks, so i was asleep

yes thats the really hard game that everyone talks about. I have to say, that i LOVED that game. Its the most satistying feeling ive ever had finishing a game. Its not really that the game is difficult, its just terribly frustrating. If anyone decides to play that game, let me know, i will give you tips that will minimize your frustration…(start off as royalty class…use the dragon god demon soul to buy firestorm from yuria)

Its also a beautiful game and im surprised no one here has really played it

  7. @nightshade

thanks for the heads up, ill be downloading that today (or this weekend if i cant find time)

  8. I bought Demon Souls the week it released, it was hard to find, and have yet to beat it. I dabble with it from time to time and I'm cool with it if I never beat it. I do think that I will dedicate more time to it later this year though. I now know 2 people who have seen the end of Demon Souls so I need to see it myself.

  9. @Thunder: No problem. There was actually a ton of DLC that came out yesterday for a bunch of different stuff. I just happened to notice that one. I still haven't played that game and chances are now that the fall releases are coming out it's gonna get lost in the shuffle for me.

if you rent it using their online service you can do it. The offer a 2 week trial. I tried it using that but didn't like it.

  11. you can get demons souls for like 20 or 25 bucks at blockbuster

    @smartguy

seriously, start over with demons souls and make your character class royalty

you start off with a cataylst, which is a magic wand…..SOOO much easier with magic

I also used the walkthrough in order to find some of the more rare items. The funny shit about demons souls is that after you beat it, you start NG+, where you start the game off over, but at a 50 percent higher difficulty…if you think its hard the first time..its stupid hard the second time around.

  12. you can get demons souls for like 20 or 25 bucks at blockbuster

thats gamestop, not blockbuster.,cockknocker, lackluster, whatever you wanna call it

  13. @Thundercracker

I'm curious, what makes this game frustrating? The most I've heard about it is usually people complaining about how hard it is and then cussing out the game and the developers, etc. and not really talking about why it is hard.

  14. @bsu

You can be one shot by enemies. When you die you start a level over. No such thing as a checkpoint.

  15. @Smartguy

Ahh…sounds like Rainbow Six: Vegas. The checkpoints were only at the end of each act, and there were only a couple acts per chapter. That was very frustrating to play on Realistic difficulty so I guess I can make that comparison for now.
