Google Celebrates Pac-Man, Confuses Firefox Users

To celebrate Pac-Man’s 30th birthday, Google has a playable version of the groundbreaking game on its homepage (as pictured above). This is very cool…unless you’re a Firefox user. Wired’s Chris Kohler sent out a tweet linking to Mozilla’s Firefox support page. Apparently Google and Pac-Man are confusing the crap out of some people (idiots) and causing genuine issues for a few. Check out the screen grab below.

Some of these people are just morons that don’t understand what’s going on with their homepage. A few of these people seem to have real issues and have attempted reasonable troubleshooting measures, but are still getting Pac-Man sounds. It sucks for people in the latter category. The complaints filed by people that…aren’t so tech savvy are completely amusing and worth a read.

  1. I thought it was clever! I havent figured out how to play it. I love the insert coin tab at the bottom of the search field. Fuck! Im older than pac-man!

    :(

  2. I thought it was clever too. Pac-Man is "teh awesomez" as the kids say. Some of the complaints on the Mozilla support site are just too funny though.

  3. Oh man your 30+, don't worry I'll be there in 7 years. I know most of you guys (and gals which I've only seen one of, Cami is it?) is over 30. Yes I just want to rub it in your 30 year old noses because I know you can't smell anymore, just kidding, sorry for making you feel old.

I am not yet 30. But this game is only 1 year older than me so I am too close to really argue it.

  5. @Big Blak

Actually Pac-man and I are the same age but i will be 31 soon.

    :(

I'm not Asian how do you explain me not looking thirty??

g'uh! I watch them for the hot Latinas! Man, do you watch Telemundo on Saturday??? around maybe 1p ET? There's a show called Descontrol. Watch it! Preferrably with no gf around unless she's secure with you oogling other women or enjoys oogling them too.

I'm so old, I remember Romper Room.

My first console was a Colecovision… and we were thankful. My grade school had Apple IIe's and we rocked some Logo and Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?

Anytime I get the chance from now on to switch a homepage of anyone, anywhere be it the library, Best Buy, my in-laws, it doesn't matter… I will make it my business to change it to RPad.tv.

  9. I already played several games earlier. I officially suck at Pacman. I need to change my Firefox homepage to google’s rather than the boring out default google/firefox because I typically miss out on this stuff.

No your in the clear. Tokz is older than Pac Man which is 30 so he has to be at least 31.

    @ Tokz

You don’t look your age man, if anything I look 30+. We all know that Asians have the fountain of youth in their blood so RPAD will be like 70 and look like his age now lol.

hahaha. i read the complaints from those noobs. They are hilarious. One post says,” does google know they have pac-man sounds coming from their site.” Another says, “i tried another browser and pac-man game/sounds are still there. I hope google fixes this soon.”
    ***NOOOOOBS***

  12. very clever, I love Google's homepages when they get clever like this…and I actually find it a little annoying when people complain about the homepages being too confusing at times. The non-tech savvy people annoy me sometimes…it was said best by someone around me recently that computers need to be taught to everyone, because there are too many people who are "proud" to not know how to work a computer effectively- people talk all the time about how they can't figure this computer stuff out and it's something only for the kids these days, etc…you don't find people willing to admit in the same fashion that they can't read or write, etc. People are embarrassed to not know how to do those things, just as they should be embarrassed to not know how to effectively use a computer.

sorry *rant* lol. It really bothers me sometimes.
