Coffee Talk #140: What Are You Looking Forward to at E3 2010?

E3 2010 is a little over a month away and I wanted to get your thoughts on the show. I’ll probably ask you this question a couple of more times in the next few weeks so I can see how your answers change as information leaks. For now let me know what you’re jazzed about.

Are you looking forward to PlayStation Move vs. Project Natal? Perhaps you’re more interested in the future of streaming gaming and want to see how Gaikai vs. OnLive plays out. Mobile gaming is growing crazy fast and there will tons of great iPad/iPhone games on display. Perhaps you’re not interested in these new battles and trends. Maybe you just want more info on an exciting console or PC game.

Welcome to Coffee Talk! Let’s start off the day by discussing whatever is on your (nerd chic) mind. Every morning I’ll kick off a discussion and I’m counting on you to participate in it. If you’re not feelin’ my topic, feel free to start a chat with your fellow readers and see where it takes you. Whether you’re talking about videogames, your plans for catching Iron Man 2 this weekend, Nutrisystem dumping Lawrence Taylor as a spokesman, or your UFC 113 predictions, Coffee Talk is the place to do it.

Let me know what you’re looking forward to at this year’s show. It will certainly alter my approach going into it. While I’m not going to write every story you’re interested in — I’m just one guy and have my own angles to play too — you’ll certainly be on my mind as I process story ideas. While I’d love for all of you to attend E3 with me, this is sorta kinda the next best thing, yeah? Use your influence and shape my E3 2010 coverage (please)!

  1. I want to see the motion controls in action. But I love just hearing about the new game on the way.

I'm praying to god that they will announce KH3. That would be awesome.

Side Note : Don't Forget Mother's Day Is This Weekend, It would be wise for no one to miss this day. I have before and it does not turn out well.

  2. @ Ray

Is E3 open to the public?

If so, How much would it cost me to get in?

    @ topic

I'm most interested in seeing gameplay footage of a few assorted titles. I'm also curious to see what advancements Sony and MS have made with their motion controls since last year. Both of the demos they gave were VERY rough and I'd like to see what they've done in the year that's passed with them.

  3. @N8R E3 is a trade event and they're pretty strict about letting people in. Hell, I have to jump through hoops to get in and I've been attending the show since 1996.

@All Totally forgot to mention 3D gaming. That will be a big deal at the show too.

  4. I want to see the 3DS already <_<

Also, I'm not interested right now, but when the Reach beta ends I'm going to be very interested in any info on it. D@mn Microsoft and their obvious but effective hype techniques…

  5. the 3DS is something i want to see more of, not to mention the next Zelda title.

Besides seeing the Natal and Move in action some more i can't think of what else i would want to see more of. Hopefully you can find some obscure nugget for us.

  6. I want to know about game prices for OnLive.

I am going to take 3D gaming with a grain of salt this year since there are no 3D sets that I will purchase this year. I'm going to wait for the sets that don't require glasses. What's the point of making your nice vivid image dark?? Not to mention…the glasses are 200. Each.

Finally, I want to know about what changes Sony is going to implement to PSN. What is the pay service going to be?

  7. @ E3

Move vs Natal, I get the ideas and concepts but I want to know how they will "revolutionize" the industry especially Natal because there is no controller or nun chuck attachment. I get move more because its like (well at least now) an advanced Wii motion system to me .

    @ UFC

Im pulling for Shogun but Machida will keep his belt, I want Kimbo to rack Mitrione's brain cells but Mitrione can take a beating so that one going to be close. I can care less about the rest of the fights but I think Koscheck will also have a W tonight.

    @ NBA

    Celtics go up 2-1 tonight.

  8. I would like to see the 3DS, not really interested in anyone's motion controls or 3D gaming…In fact I could really care less about the 3D gaming on consoles. I would also like to see the mobile gaming advances that have been made. Mobile games are probably what I want to see most because I still want to see someone come out with an in depth really good game for the app store.

  9. @Big Blak NBA

Nah you got that one switched…Cavs go up 2-1 tonight.

  10. @ Don't make ME body slam U (lmao)

We will see at the end of the night. But I know for a fact the that CAVS are due for some more cold games, Celtics in 6 maybe 7.

  11. I know it won't happen but I would like to see Sony say something about a new PSP that's actually better and not just a new layout.

I am only interested in Natal because I am going to enjoy its failure in not being what they originally showed.

I am kinda Meh on the PS Move.

I guess I am really going to be most interested the games. Want to hear about new inFAMOUS

  12. @Big Blak

They haven't been playing the greatest, but if they lose two in a row I think that they can rally and get their heads back in the game to win this series.

I'm also pretty curious to see where Lebron might go after this season.

  13. Killer instinct 2 maybe….new gta announcement?

Really i wanna see what Nomura san has been up to with final fantasy vs

  14. @thundercracker

Good one. Oh yeah Killer Instinct! bring that game back! Except that it should be 3 now not 2.

  15. @Thundercracker

KI2 came out many years ago on the N64. I think you mean KI3.

  16. in the interest of my own percieved infaillability im gonna stick with the fact that im waiting for killer instinct 2

i dont make mistakes, i make happy accidents

  17. @thundercracker

So that is why you bought a 360? To tune up on KI2 while waiting for KI3

    Let your gf know.

  18. is killer instinct available on xbox arcade?

    btw i bought a mic…lol

on amazon, so im hoping it shows up on rays thing…also bought some computer speakers

  19. @Big Blak

Man Boston killed it toni….nevermind…lol jk.

Now Cleveland better keep it up so I don’t look like a dumbass talking all that ish.

  20. W/ the L.T. news, I guess I've gotta stop cracking Roethisberger jokes at my wife's expense, huh?

    ::sigh::

As always, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the games in action. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Sony and Microsoft have in store for their motion controllers and if there's actually anything there for me besides the admittedly cool "Minority Report" feel of flipping through menus with the wave of a hand.
