This Week’s Videogame Releases

We’re smack dab in the middle of the Q4 release rush. There are lots of interesting games this week, including some excellent platform exclusives. Lots of PS3 gamers are high on Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, while Xbox 360 gamers will get their motors runnin’ with Forza Motorsport 3. Here are this week’s PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS releases…along with some brief commentary. I’ve taken out most of the garbage and kids games (unless I found them funny).

Let me know what games you plan on picking up this week (please)!

Forza Motorsport 3

Xbox 360
CSI Deadly Intent — You know Jim, sometimes the box exes you. (yooooowwwwww!)
DJ Hero — The reviews are good, but I wonder how many people are going to buy an expensive game in this economic climate.
Fairytale Fights — A lot of you probably haven’t been following this one, but it looks like fun.
Forza Motorsport 3 — Microsoft’s first-party racer makes its highly-anticipated return.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City
Jurassic the Hunted
Tekken 6
— I wonder if Tekken will do as well as or surpass Street Fighter IV.

Ratchet and Clank Future

PlayStation 3
DJ Hero — For the record, DJ Mbenga is no hero of mine.
Fairytale Fights
Jurassic the Hunted
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time — I hope this game sells like crazy. Insomniac rules!!!
Tekken 6

All Star Cheer Squad

Wii
All Star Cheer Squad — You call those spirit fingers?!?
Barbie and the Three Musketeers — This sounds like a naughty movie, but I’m betting it’s not.
CSI Deadly Intent — You know Mike, sometimes the motion controls you. (Yooooowwwww!!!)
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 3
DJ Hero
Drawn to Life: Next Chapter — This series is underrated.
Nerf N-Strike Elite
Press Your Luck 2010 Edition
— No whammies, no whammies, no whammies, stop!

PlayStation Portable
Mytran Wars

Nintendo DS
Atelier Annie Alchemist of Sera Island
CSI Deadly Intent: The Hidden Cases — You know Larry, sometimes the screen touches you. (Yooooowwwwww!!!)
Diner Dash: Flo on the Go
Drawn to Life: Next Chapter
Press Your Puck 2010 Edition — Stop at…shovelware!
Sushi Academy

  1. i love the way you do the releases for every week rpad, it is highly entertaining. oh, breaking news! netflix is officially coming to the ps3! i have to resubscribe! cause in live i have to be a gold account member to use this kind of thing. and my gold account expires next month. im not planning on using it anymore, since i dont use it that much

  2. @rbee90 Thanks! It will continue to get snappier in the future. Even though I have more time for the site this week, I'm going to be a little off.

The Netflix on PS3 story is coming soon!

  3. I'd love to get Gay Tony, but I'm super broke right now.

    @ R Pad

I'm super sorry to hear about your friend Rannie. My heart is completely with you and all of her other friends and family.

My best friend since I was 5 died in 2007 and I still have dreams about him that wake me up teared and furious. Losing peers is some of the hardest things I've had to go through.

I truly do feel for you.

  4. @N8R Thanks man. She was so wonderful to me and the last ten years of my life were way better thanks to her. It'll be a tough time for many game writers and PR professionals — she touched so many lives. I'm happy to read all the lovely things people are writing about her on Facebook and Twitter, and it's great exchanging stories about her with friends. I wish so much that she were still here, but I'll try to focus on all the brilliant memories I have of her.

  5. I should be getting FORZA 3 in the mail tomorrow. That should hold me over till MW2 easily.

    @R-Pad

LOL Spirit Fingers. I remember that movie. Just not the name of it.

  6. @rpad I also wanted to send my condolences out to you for the loss of your friend, it's always hard to lose anyone, even harder when they really touched your life.

on a lighter note though, @rpad as long as Halo ODST: Ballerina Edition comes out this week I'm pretty sure I read everything correctly.

  7. Sucks! I was going to get Ratchet and Clank, but I got a speeding ticket I have to pay for instead. Stupid Jerk of a Texas Highway Patrol. Don't get me wrong I respect them and deserved the ticket but there is no reason to be a butt about it.

  8. Haha I may have to go rent Press Your Luck and take it to a friends house. I used to love that show (or at least I think I did) All I remember is "Big money, big money, no whammies, no whammies" and then the funny cartoon whammies. I know nothing about how the game works.
