What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Although I plan to spend a good portion of my weekend celebrating the NY Yankees reaching another World Series when they beat up the Angels on Saturday, I’m going to make some time for SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. As many of you know, I contributed to the Shawn Michaels and Mickie James storylines. I want to see what was changed and what wasn’t. More importantly, I want to create some content!

Smackdown vs Raw 2010 c

In addition to creating a downloadable version of RPad (obviously a technical wrestler), I’m excited to create my own storylines. It’s going to be me and Claudio Castagnoli (my favorite indie wrestler) taking on the WWE! I’m half-thinking of including some lines that poke fun at my recent misfortunes. I can see it now:

Claudio CastagnoliChris Jericho: RPad…why the hell have you come back to the WWE?

Me: Well Chris, I’d love to say that it’s because I’ve heard rumors of you wearing short shorts these days, but the truth is that I lost my job while I was in Asia and I need some scratch for knee surgery. Since I like to have fun when I make money, I thought, “Let’s go beat up Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship!”

Chris Jericho: And who’s this with you? Another one of these parasites? Another sanctimonious son of bitch? Look at me when I’m talking to you “new guy”!

Claudio Castagnoli: [Smiles and shakes Jericho’s hand] Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyy!

Ha! That’s all I have for now. While I continue to conjure up my Claudio Castagnoli classic, let me know what you’re playing this weekend (please)!

  1. probably some more uncharted 2. I'm about halfway through the game on hard now.

Also I'm trying to play through the original Mega Man series for NES this weekend. I'm on 3 now

  2. Uncharted 2 hasn't come out of my PS3 since I bought it and won't come out this weekend either.

  3. I plan on finally beating Uncharted 2. I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to play. I am on Chapter 26 Reunion.

  4. Buying Uncharted 2 tonight… I love the fact that it sounds like a broken record in here. Definently ensures that I am making the right purchase. At some point, maybe, I might continue my quest for Metal Dominance and the 100% trophy in Brutal Legend. But judging from the Uncharted love, I dont think I will get there.

  5. MW1 as usual. I'd like to play Last Remnant some more, but the temporary video card (9600GTO) I ordered won't be in till Monday. I need to get back to gaming on my PC as the window of opportunity is slowly coming to a end before FORZA 3 comes out followed by MW2 and L4D2. Also, I noticed Borderlands is $44 on Steam. I might get that if it drops another $5 by the time my GTX285 gets back from EVGA.

  6. I'm working my way through both WWE SDvsR'10 and FIFA 10. Loving both of them so far. Can't play the WWE in front of the toddler though (lest he try and give me a German Suplex), so I'll probably stick to FIFA while he's awake and hit the WWE during naptime and after he goes to bed.

I'll probably end up doing reviews of both either for the website I write for over the weekend or early next week.

  7. I will finally take Uncharted 2 out of the plastic wrap today and pop it in. I beat Brutal Legend last night and thoroughly enjoyed that game.

Also, since I got a new job on Wednesday, I am going to take advantage of the bestbuy deal if it comes to fruition. I'm thinking NBA 2k10, Borderlands and i don't know what my third game should be. Any ideas?

  8. @Nightshade – I taught my wife's son how to kick out before I count to 3 when he was 4, and he still can't understand why he can do it everytime I cover him, but I can't manage to get my shoulder up when he covers me. I tried to teach him the sharpshooter, but even now that he's 8 he can't grab both my legs and twist lol. Not to cross promotionalize, but what website do you write for? I'll be sure to check it out on the home PC.

  9. @Smartguy

Ratchet & Clank or Tekken 6. Also, Brutal Legend is still in the plastic in my man cave. I don't understand how you played that game over Uncharted 2. Oh well, to each his own.

Go Dolphins. Let the wildcat loose!

  10. @Smartguy – I thourougly enjoyed Brutal Legend. Took a mind set change to really get into the stage battles (and a little bit of old school zerging) but I had a real blast with it.

  11. @RROD

Simple answer: I have had Brutal Legend on my radar for considerably longer and loved Tim Schaffer's previous work. I beat the first UC in the last month. Liked it alot, but I had my eyes set on BL from the get go.

Is that a new Ratchet and Clank you are talking about?

  12. @LarcenousLaugh:

I play that same game with my son. He's 2 1/2. What's really funny is that sometimes he'll jump on me, count to 3 and then yell "Dada Wins!!" cause he doesn't quite understand the game we're playing. He's just having fun with the rough-housing. That being said, I'm not letting him watch the real thing (for as real as wrestling is) until he's old enough to know better than to mimic it with his friends.

  13. @Nightshade – yeah mine hasn't seen a live wrestling show yet. He is still in the "ninja" stage of childhood where everything comes with a karate chop. He knows the difference between real and fantasy (when I took him to see GI JOE, he understood that you couldn't go around killing people with nano-machines lol) but he still isn't beyond trying to elbow drop me, much less one of his friends. Unfortunently, he isn't mine by blood and lives with his dad, who caters to him a bit to much, so I end up spending most of the time we have him trying to ensure that he won't get drilled in high school while still feeding the glorious video game nerd growing within him.

  14. Gonna play me some more Uncharted 2, and see if I can't beat it. Probably some Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 too.

  15. @Smartguy:

Yeah, Brutal Legand was great. I grew up on metal and Tim Schafer games, so I was sold the moment they annouced it anyway. But I did thouroughly enjoy the game.

  16. im on a trip this weekend, bringing my 360 with me to the gf's mom's house. so pokemon blue and finishing call of duty 2 on veteran for me.

  17. i just kicked the temple knight's ass today on demon's souls. but ill be playing some uncharted 2 multiplayer later this afternoon, and some oddworld tomorrow morning on my psp. on sunday, some baldur's gate 1, i need to get ready for dragon age.

  18. @Ray – same here. The series was excellent, but I think that it's really clear to see how BioWare has grown since then. Not knocking the choice, just amazed that someone still has it. I lost my copy of SoA and ToBh during a move years ago.
